Service Description

Learn the Dim Sum 點心 tradition through making fun and cute sweet buns from scratch. Children ages 2 -17 can learn to make adorable animal shaped sweet buns with parents and other kids and families on our outdoor patio. Each family can make 1 reservation for one table, up to 4 per table for 1 family. One $65 reservation can cover up to 1 child that share 1 table with parents. No raw meats will be used. All sweet buns will be filled with strawberry cheesecake & red bean paste. No raw meat will be used. Each reservation/participant shall be given pre-proofed white and colored dough that they must prepare and knead before creating cute baos. Each reservation will have enough materials to make 6-16 sweet baos that they can eat there and bring home in cute boxes to give to friends & family as gifts. Each reservation/participant will be given 2-4 8' bamboo steamers that they will use to fill their hand-made baos. Each time a steamer is filled, they will be steamed in our commercial steamers. Most families will begin to eat and enjoy their own sweet steamed baos by one hour into the class. This restaurant was opened with the goal to celebrate the art and tradition of Dim Sum. These classes are to encourage families to gather and bond over the making of dim sum. Students and family are also encouraged to learn a few simple Chinese bao making phrases during the class. Colorful chef hats and aprons are provided for use during the class and families are encouraged to get messy with flour and take lots of pictures on the outdoor patio. All materials will be provided during the class and children are encouraged to participate in returning items according to their bins. Last call to team baos will be at 4:30pm. Families can take left over dough home to continue making baos at home. Are you interested in dining at Iron Teapot Dim Sum & Bar? Please make reservations for lunch (before 3pm) or dinner (after 5pm) at our website: During the class the kitchen is closed for regular dining. The bar is partially open. There is no dining during the class. The class takes place during the shift transition period. And, during the class, is it not recommended that the tables are filled with food, as we will require the entire table to make, set and prepare the baos.
